Last week, the AccessFlow Global team sat down with Inner Range's sales and business development teams across Victoria, the Australian Capital Territory, New South Wales, Queensland, Western Australia, and Sout Australia at their Melbourne office. Rather than a standard demo, the session covered real customer use cases across transport & logistics, corporate offices, oil & gas and other key verticals-and the questions the teams raised reflect exactly what's being asked on-site, every day, across Australia.
We've turned the session into a resource covering the most common questions about visitor management, workforce management, and emergency mustering with direct answers up front, and the detail behind them underneath.
What Is Visitor Management?
Short answer: Visitor management is the process of registering, verifying, and tracking anyone entering a facility who isn't aregular employee. Modern platforms like AccessFlow go further, linking visitordata to access control, compliance checks, and real-time occupancy, so everyvisitor is accounted for, not just signed in.
A traditional sign-in sheet only records that someone arrived. A connected visitor management system actively manages who can access where, for how long, and what happens if there's an emergency while they're on-site. For regulated or high-risk sites, this also means automated inductions, screening, and approval workflows instead of manual reception processes.
How Does AccessFlow Integrate with Inner Range Integriti andInception?
Short answer: AccessFlow connects natively with both InnerRange Integriti and Inner Range Inception, pulling real-time access events, alarm states, and door/area status directly into the AccessFlow platform, feeding straight into visitor management, workforce compliance, and emergency mustering, regardless of which Inner Range system a site runs.
• InnerRange Integriti - suited to larger, multi-site, or enterprise estates needing advanced access control and intrusion detection
• InnerRange Inception - a streamlined access control and intrusion option, wellsuited to smaller sites or single-building deployments
• Forsites also running Genetec Security Center, the dedicated Integriti ACS Pluginextends this further into a single Security Desk view (covered below)
This means whether a customer is on Integriti or Inception, AccessFlow's compliance and mustering modules work the same way, access eventsfeed live occupancy data without needing a separate integration build for each.
What Is Workforce Management?
Short answer: Workforce management, in an operational compliance context, is the tracking of employee and contractor inductions, certifications, and site competencies, tied directly to physical access. If acredential lapses, access can be automatically restricted until it's resolved, closing the gap between HR compliance and physical security.
AccessFlow's workforce management exists specifically toprevent compliance gaps from becoming safety incidents particularly relevantfor sites with contractor-heavy workforces or strict induction requirements.
How Does AccessFlow Support Different Australian Industries?
Short answer: Each industry runs on the same AccessFlow platform, but the modules switched on are matched to that sector's risk profile, workforce mix, and compliance obligations. From contractor pre-qualification in oil & gas, to multi-tenant visitor access in corporate buildings, to real-time mustering in healthcare.
Transport & Logistics - Keep drivers, contractors andvisitors accounted for across high-turnover depots and yards, with musteringbuilt for large, transient site populations.
Corporate & Multi-Tenant Buildings - Give every tenanttheir own visitor workflow while building management keeps full oversight ofthe site.
Oil, Gas & High-Risk Industries - Enforce inductiontracking, contractor competency checks, and fitness-for-work screening — like Alcolizer— before anyone steps on-site.
Healthcare- Track staff, contractors, patients and visitorsin real time across every ward and building so duty-of-care obligations are met and emergency response is faster.
Local Government & Councils - Manage visitors andcontractors consistently across every community facility and worksite underyour LGA, with compliance reporting that rolls up into one view.
How Does the AccessFlow platform Handle Multi-Tenant Buildings?
Short answer: AccessFlow lets each tenant in a shared building run its own visitor policies, approval workflows, and reporting, while building management retainssite-wide oversight without requiring separate systems per tenant.
This matters increasingly for commercial buildings where ownership, management, and occupancy are split across different organisations. Rather than each tenant deploying a separate visitor system, AccessFlow centralises infrastructure while keeping each tenant's data and workflows independent.
How Does AccessFlow Integrate with Genetec Security Center and Inner Range Integriti?
Short answer: The Inner Range Integriti ACS Plugin runs as a role on any Genetec Security Center server, unifying access control, intrusion detection, alarms, and reporting from Integriti into Genetec Security Desk giving operators a single operational view instead of two separate systems.
For system integrators and end users, the integrationdelivers:
• Singlepane of glass for access control and intrusion across the site
• Real-timealarms, events and status updates pushed directly from Integriti into SecurityCenter
• Fasterinvestigations and response, with door and area status visible alongside livevideo
• Federation,fail-over, multi-site and mobile support for distributed estates
• Centralisedconfiguration via the Genetec Config Tool, with maps, monitoring and alarmsmanaged through Security Desk
Unifying video and access control isn't a “nice-to-have”anymore-it's a strategic advantage that directly reduces operator complexityand improves response time during incidents.
What Is the Alcolizer Integration Used For?
Short answer: The Alcolizer integration enables random fitness-for-work testing before facility access is granted automatically triggered by an access request, with access withheld until a passed test is recorded within a configurable timeframe. It's used primarily in mining, oil & gas, and other high-risk industries.
AccessFlow's built-in randomisation engine selects cardholders for testing using customisable variables and enforces access restrictions until clearance is obtained. Because the process is automated and logged, it also creates a defensible evidentiary chain-important for sites that need to demonstrate compliance after an incident, not just enforce it in the moment.
How Does Emergency and Evacuation Mustering Work?
Short answer: AccessFlow generates muster reports from alive zone occupancy database, so headcounts reflect actual real-time personnellocations - employees, contractors and visitors now at the moment an emergencyis declared, not a static list from earlier in the day.
Multiple roll call methods are supported at each musterpoint, access card, QR code, and mobile device so tracking continues regardlessof credential type. This is the key difference between AccessFlow's approachand a manual headcount or basic mustering app: occupancy data is live, notassumed.
Big thanks to our partners at Inner Range for hosting us.
Sessions like this are exactly why we love bringing theteams together in person. The questions weren't generic; they were shaped byreal conversations the teams are having customers everyday.
